Whilst on one of my incredibly infrequent trips through a homeware section of a shop recently, I saw the most frightening artifact of modern domestic life in a real life tangible manifestation: A designer toilet brush and holder.
The product in question is a John Rocha toilet brush and holder. Now, setting aside my usual abhorrence toward designer label goods, I ask, -Why a toilet brush holder? For me what's truly unnerving is the degree to which designer goods have infiltrated even our sacred and natural spaces. I can understand why people like displaying a label on their clothes or to have a flashy car, but not this. Of what extra relevance or superior quality can someone's name on a basic implement like a toilet brush offer? Maybe it's a case that we feel as society that even performing one of our basest and natural needs we should still display our hyper-materialistic gloating standards of status to our visitors...
