The Narcissistic Nature Of Blogging

Why do we have blogs? -Essentially it's a glorified online diary. But what sane person has an online diary that they insert metatags into so that it becomes visible on search engines globally?

I think blogs stem from an innate narcissistic desire for ratification and kudos from others. Essentially, blogs tap into our desire for celebrity and really is proof that we all prefer the sound of our own voice...

  1. Partially yes, your dead right, but I'd say there's also the element of social sharing blah blah blah stuff that everyone likes to do. We like to feel that the stuff we blog/write about has some significance or use to others, so we spread it far and wide to see what happens.

Of course lurking under all that selfless goodness is the need to feel that your are special and your opinions are worth writing about. The fact that we are writing these things and looking for people to comment probably says a lot....
